Tax Filing Deadlines

September 17, 2018- Quarterly instalment due if you pay taxes to CRA by instalments.

December 15, 2018- Quarterly instalment due if you pay taxes to CRA by instalments.

December 31, 2018- December 31 of the year you turn 71 years of age is the last day you can contribute to your own RRSP.

February 28, 2019- Information returns due (T4, T4A, T4A-NR, T5).

March 1, 2019- The deadline for contributing to an RRSP for the 2017 tax year. The limit for RRSPs is 18% of the previous year's earned income or $26,230 whichever is lower less the Pension Adjustment (PA).

March 31, 2019- Deadline for Corporation with a calendar year end of December 31, 2018 to file their corporate tax return, so as not to incur interest charges on amounts owing.

April 30, 2019- Personal income tax returns, except for self-employed individuals, are normally due by April 30th, as is any amount owing. Penalties and interest may be charged for late returns or late payments. 

T1135 Foreign Income Verification Statement

June 15, 2019- Due date for personal tax returns of individuals with self-employed business income, or spouses/common-law partners of taxpayers with self-employed business income. Any balance owing must be paid by April 30th.

Second Personal tax instalment due from taxpayers who are required to remit quarterly

June 30, 2019- Corporate Tax Returns filing due date for calendar year end corporations. Keep in mind that corporate taxes payable is due 2 or 3 months after the year end of the corporation based on its taxable income for the previous year.

July 31, 2019- HST/GST filing due for quarterly remitters, with a calendar year.
